teaching

I teach in the Department of Computer Science at Birkbeck College, University of London.  For undergraduates, I lecture on Professional Issues in Computing, which is largely a practical guide to the  Information Systems profession. It has a legal flavor and covers, among other things, increasingly popular topics such as digital surveillance, intellectual property and computer ethics.  You can find more detail about the module here.

For postgraduates, I teach a broader range of topics.  As well as the Professional Issues in Computing topic, I teach a course on Enterprise Information Systems, which like the Professional Issues course is oriented towards IS in practice. The topic covers such areas as the Systems Development Life Cycle, Agile and Waterfall development methodologies and Enterprise Architecture.  You can find more detail on the module here.

In the School of Management, I lecture on Business Information Systems to undergraduates taking business and accountancy degrees.

I am currently developing a new online Master's degree course in Information Technology with colleagues in the University of London, which will be launched in 2021.
